Do It Yourself: Fur Slides

It is no doubt that slide sandals are in trend this spring and summer. I've even come across some fur slide sandals and it hit me, I can make my own for dirt cheap! So that's exactly what I did.

For this DIY Project all you need is:
1. Glue gun w/ glue sticks - $5
2. 5ft Boa- $7.00
3. Slide Sandals - $10
4. Scissors

First step is to plug in and heat up your glue gun, then cut off excess yarn/string from your boa. Second, once your glue gun is hot you will need to line the front of your slide sandal with hot glue. Once done quickly lay the first row of boa onto the glue.

Make sure its firmly placed. Repeat this for both sandals and allow to dry. Lastly, you will want to trim the excess fur from the sides so that it doesn't drag when you wear them.

DIY Ugly Christmas Sweater

DIY Ugly Christmas Sweater
The holiday parties are rolling in and everyone is hosting 'Ugly Christmas Sweater' parties. If you are like me when invited to an Ugly Christmas Sweater party I thought of ways to make my sweater cute. Something I could wear within my wardrobe anytime of year. So its safe to say I was not going to win ugliest sweater contest. But if you have been invited to a Ugly Christmas Sweater party here's a DIY to help save you time and money. You can even have a DIY Ugly Christmas Sweater party before the party.

What you need:
  1. A Sweater
  2. Dimensional Fabric Paint
  3. Beads
  4. Ribbon
  5. Glue
  6. Thread & Needle
  7. Iron
  8. Iron-on Christmas Patches & Letters
  9. Any other items you can securely add to your sweater to make it UGLY!
Step 1: Think of a message or word you'd want on your sweater and then either iron on the letters or write them out with the fabric paint and let dry.

Step 2:  Add any and every object (ribbons, lights, beads, random Christmas themed objects)  you can securely add without it falling off with glue or needle & thread and watch your sweater transform.

Step 3: If you are still stuck at step one and need some ideas click here.  You should be able to find one that's cool and fit your style and personality.

If you just don't have the time or patience to make your own of course there are ones you can buy. Find some below!

365 of 365: Best Of 2014

Today marks the last day of the year. 2014 has been a good year for the blog as well as our personal lives. We are looking forward to what next year has in store.

Below are our 5 most viewed blog posts this year; if you hadn't read them before do so now!

When buying wardrobe essentials, I believe you should buy quality pieces that will last for a long time which may cost more than you normally would spend. Think of them as investment pieces. The key to purchasing great quality pieces while still being frugal is shopping out of season, outlet stores and major sales. This post lists some essentials I believe every lady should have and where to buy them for the low! - See more at: 8 Wardrobe Essentials Worth the Splurge

I'm an advocate of not paying more for an item than its worth. A lot of these 'high end' makeup brands have good products but some are not worth the price in my opinion. Here are some inexpensive makeup products that can be purchased at a drugstore or your local beauty supply store.  - See more at: Beauty on a Budget

A Hermes belt kit starts at about $800 and the enamel bracelet is $650. I see a lot of people with both items some real and some fake. Instead of spending all your money or buying a fake, check out this look for less. - See more at: The Look for Less: Hermes

Did you catch Beyoncé in her Double Pom Pom Beanie? If you want to make your own, I found a fairly easy DIY tutorial for the Double Pom Pom Beanie on A Pair & A Spare's blog - See more at: DIY Double Pom Pom Beanie

UGGS aren't cheap and finding some on sale is a challange. Over the Christmas holiday I came across these cute little boot wraps by Homage, which are liners that pop onto soles of you UGGs. They come in a variety of colors and patterns. The prices range from $29.95 to $34.95. They are sold exclusively at Nordstrom. These boot covers are perfect for sprucing up an old or new pair of UGGs. - See more at: Dress Up Your UGGs

Celeb Style: Tulle Skirt

Move over Ballerina! The Tulle skirt is for everyone and has made its way to mainstream fashion. I've recently seen Kelis in this cute little number and decided to make one of my own with my trusty sewing machine

This look can be casual and more upscale for a night on the town, it totally up to you. But I would definitely rock this skirt either way. But remember you have to own the look and be confident in what you put on! You can purchase this Kelis Inspired Tulle skirt at the link below.

DIY Double Pom Pom Beanie

Did you catch Beyoncé in her Double Pom Pom Beanie?? Well I did some time last week Beyoncé was spotted at a Nets Game with Jay-Z. She was drenched in a $630 Karl Lagerfeld Tartan print jacket and a Double Pom Pom beanie that can run you close to $200!
However, if you want to make your own, I found a fairly easy DIY tutorial for the Double Pom Pom Beanie on A Pair & A Spare's blog. Check it out and if you make one let us know email or tag us in your photo!!

I purchased my own on Etsy.com for $20. She has various color but black worked for me!
