Frugal Spotlight: Romwe

Romwe is a Chinese online store that sells clothing, shoes and accessories as well as select vintage pieces. They sell the very latest on-trend fashions, many of which are designer or celebrity inspired and offer worldwide shipping.

Alot of items featured on this blog come from here. You can find some really inexpensive cute items at Romwe without the guilt of spending too much money. Be careful with sizing when you order because Chinese sizes differ from US sizes.

March 2015 Frugal Finds

I don't shop as much as I use to since I've moved to France. Mostly, because I am a full-time student and don't work. I can't spend as frivolously as I once did. But that doesn't stop me from looking. If you follow our Pinterest 'frugal finds' board you know that we post items all the time. Here are a few items that I've found recently that are great frugal finds.

The Look for Less: Dior

Look for Less Dior

I don't about you all, but I'm definitely going through a sneaker phase right now.  There's no better way to get rid of that when you see a pair of sneakers you really like but they cost over $1,000! However, I'm always on the prowl for expensive items that I really like but the more frugal version. I saw these Dior Fusion Sneakers on Instagram, but after seeing how much they are my heart fluttered. Randomly, I was surfing through nastygal.com and found a similar version for under $200. That's $900 cheaper and a win in my book! Check it out!

What About Your FRINGE

Fringe, fringe and more fringe is a growing trend in 2015. Most popular in the 70's fringe has made its way to the wardrobes of many this year. Chunky, skinny, long or short are just a few of the styles of fringe that are available to the trendy frugal shopaholic. Fringe has always been a favorite of mine, so I've accumulated many items over the years like fringe vests, dresses skirts and even boots! So much out there to choose from!

What's The TREND? Espadrilles

Source

Espadrilles aren't anything new. I remember my mom buying my cousin and I a pair when we were 10 -11 years old. I wore those shoes until they started talking, but now they are everywhere. High end designers like Chanel, Fendi, D&G, and Saint Laurent all have espadrilles in their latest spring collection. But checkout these inexpensive pairs I found below.

Get The Look: Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian was photoed in a Balmain top and Alexander McQueen at her Fleur Fatale Perfume launch in Dubai a little over a month. Last week I came across this top and pant that is almost identical to the outfit Kim had on. Checkout the complete look for under $100.

Meet Frugal Shopaholic Traci Mari Smith

Name:
Traci Mari Smith

Where are you from?
I am originally from Chicago, IL. But currently reside in Phoenix, AZ.

Explain your blog name?
I wanted my blog name to have personal meaning behind it. The blog is like a child to me, so it is my middle name and my two sons name combined. My best friend created it and I loved it ever since. Their name is Justin and Miklo, so Just Mariklo fits perfectly.

Describe your personal style?
I would say my personal style is sophisticated meets edge and quirk. I love to blend classic styles, but have fun with it. I love bold colors, polka dots, and furry things, but tone it down to make it more grown up.

Where are your favorite places to shop?
Right now my favorite place to shop is the thrift store. Mainly because stores are so set on trends, it makes it hard for me to get my creative juices flowing and I get more bang for my buck. With he 90's making a come back, the thrift stores are a gold mind for me. I also love to shop in department stores such as Nordstrom or Macy's because it is a one stop shop with a few of my favorite designers. They also have amazing clearance sections year round. When I want to splurge I go to BCBG and when I want to save I go to H&M.
What does being a "Frugal Shopaholic" mean to you?
I think being a Frugal Shopaholic means quality over quantity and being a smart shopper. Knowing your budget and understanding the quality of the item. There is nothing wrong with splurging on items if it is great quality or staple piece. Quality will last longer and a staple item can be worn many ways and bypass trends. Which is why I love the thrift store so much because there are more quality items for less.

What is a frugal shopaholic tip or trick that can share with our readers?
Being smart by checking the price with different stores and knowing if something will go on sale or not. With the convenience of smart phones, we can compare prices in a second.Check see that item is selling fast. Are there 50 other shirts there like it? Or is this the second to last one? This prevents you from being compulsive. I also say if you can't think of 3 ways for style it within the time it takes you to purchase, then put it back. If you really love it, but it is a splurge, ask the store to hold it for you while you think about it. If you want to go back before closing time to get it, then it may be worth it.

How can we keep in touch with you?
