Black Friday is a couple days away. This is by far our favorite holiday. I (Christen) could skip dinner altogether and head straight to Target or Walmart  and start shopping. If you read our BF Shopping Tips, you know that it is important to plan ahead. Black Friday Shopping Tips

Black Friday is next week!! Black Friday (BF) and Cyber Monday (CM) are the two holidays that you as frugal shopaholics can enjoy and save! But in order to really enjoy the perks of both you must know the tricks of the trade to get the most out of your time and effort.

Tip 1: Do your research!
We will provide the as many deals we can but definitely go online and look up BF deals as soon as possible.  Most stores have posted special hours they will be open and times you can buy certain merchandise for specific prices. Also, many stores will carry the same merchandise but it may be cheaper at different stores so do your research!

Tip 2: Set up a plan of action!
Walmart among other stores will be open almost 24 hours, but will be releasing different items at different times in random areas of the store. So set up a plan of action and download or print the map so you know where to go. If you are shopping online add the things you want to your cart in advance and bookmark the page for a fast and easy checkout! 

Tip 3: Save your money! 
Cyber Monday is right after Black Friday and for the most part it includes tons of deals on clothing, shoes and accessories. Black Friday is usually the best time to buy electronics, appliances etc. So allot enough money for each item you plan on buying so you aren't stuck making life decisions at the register, some deals will be too hard to pass up!

Tip 4: Dress Appropriately! 
If you plan to stand outside waiting for a store to open make sure that are dressed according to the weather so the wait is a comfortable one.

Tip 5: Go Mobile! 
Download the mobile apps for the stores you plan on visiting, no need in toting around a binder or purse full of coupons, ads and flyers when you can access them on your smartphone.  Saves time and space! Use apps like BuyVia and BlackFriday.com to compare deals from different stores.

Last but most certainly not least... BE SAFE and stay aware of your surroundings. If you plan on camping outside of any stores, you'll be outside waiting and it will be dark. And when you are out shopping bring a friend these stores get very hectic.

I was in the mall over the weekend and I saw these Isabel Marant look alikes in the window at Aldo. The Aldo version comes in both black and gray.  I might put these on my Black Friday/Cyber Monday wishlist Check them out below!

What's the TREND? Sneaker Wedge

 

I'm not a big sneaker fan, in fact the only sneakers I have are some chucks and some running shoes.  Last year the sneaker wedge trend emerged again, I remember having a pair of Spice Girl wedged sneaks circa 2000. Now everybody from Nike to Giuseppe Zanotti are making them. They can be worn with just about anything from sweats to midi skirts. This trend has gotten mixed reviews from many, but alot of people including many celebs have been dabbling in this trend. Lately my go to shoe has been the Xhilaration Kahsha High Top Wedge Sneaker that I got from Target for $30, and I wear them at least twice a week. See some affordable pairs below.

Nicki Minaj for Kmart Review

Nicki Minaj launched her clothing line at Kmart last month. For the past few weeks I've been saying to myself that I would go and check it out and I finally did over the weekend. The new collection by Minaj has items that range from $3.99 to $37.99. The store I went to didn't have all of the items, but here are the few that I did try on. 

Foil Dots Crop Top $19.99 paired with Button Front Jeans $29.99

The jeans actually fit me really well. It usually is pretty hard for to find jeans that fit both in the waist and are actually skinny in the ankle.  If they weren't high waisted I would have bought them.

Ponte Knit Dress - Zippers $27.99 

The dress was real simple, nothing special. It's similar to this dress I purchased from American Apparel a couple years ago. If I ever need club dress last minute I could purchase this.

Keyhole Dress $29.99 

Hideous! I didn't like anything about it.  

Colorblock Cropped Racerback Tank $14.99 and Skirt $17.99. 

This was my favorite. I didn't like the fact that the top was polyester and the bottom was cotton, but I'll probably go back and get this one and put it in my stash for summer.

The Look for Less: Chanel

"A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous."- Coco Chanel. The Chanel Quilted Flap Bag is a classic! The handbag was first issued in 1955 and it's as timeless and iconic as it was back in the 50s. According to Bagsnob.com, the Chanel 2.55 is one of the two designer bags stylish women of the world should know about; the other is the Hermès Birkin.
