Dress Up Your UGGs

UGGS aren't cheap and finding some on sale is a challange. Over the Christmas holiday I came across these cute little  boot wraps by Homage, which are liners that pop onto soles of you UGGs. They come in a variety of colors and patterns. The prices range from $29.95 to $34.95. They are sold exclusively at Nordstrom. These boot covers are perfect for sprucing up an old or new pair of UGGs. Since I wear my UGGs almost everyday I'll def be buying a pair. What do you think? Yay or Nay to the boot wraps?

Peter Pilotto for Target

Yet again another collaboration with Target has surfaced and I am truly excited about this one. Peter Pilotto is one of the most recognized and coveted fashion brands from London designed by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos. This collection is bright and energetic and offers the wearer a sense of individuality. De Vos & Pilotto say the line is inspired by a sense of fun and playfulness, most of their pieces are perfect for mixing and matching which is right up a frugal shopaholics alley. It looks like pricing for the Target line will range from $16.99 to $79.99, not too bad!

The collection will include standout swimwear and stylish separates. Don't miss out! The launch date is February 9th. Checkout the look book below, this is the most anticipated Target collaboration this year!

The Look for Less: Zara

Zara Look for less
Here's another handbag look for less. You've probably seen this bag already it's been out for at least years two. It's made by Zara and its not really that expensive. I purchased a look alike from eBay about a month ago, actually I bought two in black and burgundy. The eBay version is smaller than the Zara one but for the price its still worth it. I'll be selling the black one on our Poshmark Closet.

What's in Derria's Closet?

I remember wearing Overalls years ago but they have resurfaced within the last year. They are so comfy and the bigger the better. Leather, denim whatever! I think they are cool, they can be dressed up or down. You can find them just about anywhere but I usually check out my local thrift stores first so that they are extra cheap and only need to be washed! I have about 4 pairs of overalls in my closet and I'm still looking.

Shop Our Closet!

We are shopaholics, hence the blog name. We tend to buy stuff just because its on sale. I (Christen) go through my closet each season and donate clothes and shoes I never wear anymore or that no longer fit. Alot of items that we have are brand new or have only been worn once or twice and are in great condition. We decided to let our readers to shop our  closet on Poshmark!

Start shopping our closet on Poshmark and don’t forget to download the app on your phone !

Get The Look: Brogues

What are brogues you ask? Brogues are a strong outdoor shoe with ornamental perforated patterns in leather. Brogues are also made in Suede and patten leather. Today, in addition to their typical form of sturdy leather shoes or boots, brogues may also take the form of business dress shoes, sneakers and high-heeled women's shoes.

Brogues are everywhere! Seen most commonly on the feet of A-list celebrities and with that means there's a possibility that they can be on the expensive side. But fear no more! Frugal Shopaholics is to the rescue with a more frugal option.

Send us a picture of you in your brogues or let us know if you find a pair for a great price!

What's the TREND? Jogging Pants

What's more comfy than a pair of sweatpants? I'm all bout comfort and would probably wear leggings and sweats everyday if I could. The jogging pants trend started last spring and has been become more and more popular. Anybody can pull them off no matter the body type. They come in a variety of colors and fabrics. Pair your jogging pants with  heels, sneaker wedges, a sexy blouse, fitted t-shirt, varsity jacket, and some funky accessories. I have several pair in my wardrobe. If you don't own a pair you should get some!

The Perfect Pump

The perfect Pump lauren marinis

Finding the perfect pointed toe, single sole pump is hard, especially when you are trying to stay within a certain price range. I have always loved the Christian Louboutin Pigalle, it so classic and can be worn with anything. Recently, I've been on the hunt for a similar version but I always come up short (literally). Every pair I've come across the heel has been to short for my liking. Manolo Blahnik has a new Made-to-Order Blahnik BB Boutique were you can personalize your pump in any height or color. Why can't there be a frugal version in the $100-200 range?? I was on The Daileigh and she had on these to die for pumps! They aren't quite in the frugal range for some but they are half the price of the designer versions. I think they are perfect and they look great on the foot. Check them out below and tell me what you think!

Lauren Marinis Gilda $250- 325

I f anyone wants to buy me a pair, I wear a 41. Any color will do lol

Life of a Frugal Shopaholic: Donate, Save & Make Money!

This is definitely the season to donate to the less fortunate and also get rid of clothing that you know your aren't going wear at all in the near future. This post will highlight ways to give back, save money or make money.

H&M has launched a garment collection program. Customers are encouraged to bring in unwanted garments of any brand and in any condition to stores in all 53 markets to be given a new life. If you bring in two bags of unwanted clothing you will be given 15% off one item coupon that can be used on your next visit. Look for the box below near the checkout in your local H&M store. Make sure when you are about to donate to let an associate know so that they can give you your coupon.

Goodwill & other thrift stores: Most local thrift stores allow you to donate clothing, accessories and other household items. They will probably have a drive-thru or an associate will come to your car to collect the donated good. You can get a receipt to use for tax purposes.

Plato's Closet/Uptown Cheapskate/ Buffalo Exchange:
All three of these stores operate the same but are different in their own way. The biggest difference is the type of clothing the store specializes in buying from customers. This is how it works:

  • Take your gently used brand name clothing and accessories.

  • While you check out the latest styles in the store, the buyer will review your items.

  • The buyer will create an offer based on style, condition, brand and the store's current stock levels.. This offer is  a PERCENTAGE of the retail price.

  • Once you accept the offer, you'll be on your way with some extra cash or store credit to buy something in store.

In my opinion, Platos Closet pays less for clothing out of all three. Buffalo Exchange pays more and Uptown falls somewhere in the middle.

- Uptown Cheapskate is boutique styled. So they are really looking for clothing that is in good condition and is in style at the moment for the most part.

- Buffalo Exchange is a more vintage and one of a kind type of store. So items that may be older but vintage looking they are more likely to buy. I've noticed that they like current clothing as well but I find way more stuff to buy there than the other two stores.

- Plato's Closet is very particular but they buy more urban items along with other styles.

All three buy men's and women's clothing. You can also call the store and see what items they may be looking for at that time. I'm an avid customer at all these places so if you have any questions about the process or anything feel free to leave them in the comment box!
