Frugal Finds: Jelly Shoes

Jelly this, Jelly that! Jelly everything! I remember having every color of Jelly sandals when I was younger from Gap Kids. And just like every other trend Jelly Sandals have made their way around the fashion cycle. My first siting was at American Apparel, but I really wasn't a fan of the price. So I went on a hunt and found them for more than half the price.

PARENTAL ADVISORY IS ADVISED! Celebs are loving the Alexander Wang Parental Advisory Sweatshirt and so am I.  Beyonce, Khloe Kardashian, Jourdan Dunn, and Kat Graham are just a a few celebs that have been spotted in the sweatshirt When I first saw it I instantly began looking a look for less and I found one for a fraction of the price. What's the TREND? Bucket Bags

Recent Purchases

As Christen stated in her recent purchases post, we really try not to shop as much but with this trip to Cancun for our Good Girlfriend's 25th Birthday it was hard to resist the deals I found while out and about. I needed boho chic sandals (gladiators in black & cognac) and of course shorts and swimsuits. American Apparel was having a great sale on their swimwear and I snagged the swimsuit below for only $9!! It was originally $48, what a STEAL! And don't get me started on these American Apparel Dupe Sunflower Shorts... bought them for only $28 bucks! Definitely prepared for this long awaited trip.

Splurge or Save?

Single sole heels have become super popular in stores for almost 2 years now. I purchased a black and nude pair last summer from Lola Shoetique last year and they HURT! So I've been searching for a new pair and I came across some at Target a few weeks ago and thought to myself these are identical to the ones on Steve Madden's website. It is said that the same maker of SM shoes makes the some of the shoes at Target , hence why they always have similar shoes.  Is it worth the "splurge"? Me, myself personally, I'll go for the save! No need in paying and extra $70 for the same shoe.

Where are you from?

Explain your blog name? 

My blog is a lifestyle and fashion blog, so I wanted a name that would represent both worlds and be catchy. I was Googling names and randomly came across the phrase "pomp and circumstance" and it just clicked that I would call my blog Pumps & Circumstance. I think it encapsulates a little bit of who I am and what the blog is. 

Describe your personal style? 

Honestly, I don't think I have just one style. The great thing about being frugal is I can switch from classic to edgy to preppy easily because I'm not spending a fortune on my wardrobe. I really base my look off how I'm feeling each day.

Where are your favorite places to shop? 

There are several resale and consignment shops in Indianapolis that I just love. I also love hitting up malls and thrift stores like the Goodwill.

What does being a "Frugal Shopaholic" mean to you? 

I think it means being a woman or man who loves to shop, but knows how to be smart with their money. For me, it's about finding great pieces-even designer- at a bargain. There really is no need to ever pay retail in my opinion. 

What is a frugal shopaholic tip or trick that can share with our readers? 

Look once and then look again. I don't how many times I've stumbled upon a great find from going back and checking the same rack a second time.
