Save $ or Splurge $$$ Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

I swear every time I go to buy a high-end product I end up unintentionally find its dupe. In the search for a new setting powder, I ran to my friend google to see what was the best option. Laura Mercier's powder (which had been on my wishlist) was the highest rated and a cult classic. Before I went to purchase, I saw a comparison to Milani's setting powder and decided to try it out. The 2 products are very similar and both have a light and deep formula. Check out the comparison and my thoughts below.

Make It Last Setting Powder is a high performance, ultra-fine translucent loose powder designed to seamlessly set and extend makeup wear. Features a weightless, oil-free formula infused with light-reflecting pigments to diffuse fine lines and imperfections for a luminous, shimmer finish. Available in Translucent  Light to Medium and Translucent Medium to Deep.

A lightweight, easy-to-apply, loose powder that blends effortlessly to set makeup for up to 12 hours. This award-winning powder locks in makeup for long-lasting wear without adding weight or texture. It absorbs oil and reduces shine all day, creating a flawless, matte finish with no flashback in photos. These truly-translucent shades work on all skin tones= and create a soft-focus effect to subtly blur fine lines and imperfections. Available in Translucent and Translucent Medium Deep.

Have you tried either of these powders? I've tried them and they are both nice powders. However, when you do the price break down the save isn't really a save at all. Milani is actually double the price per gram. So the smart thing to do would be to purchase the Laura Mercier. I'm currently using the Milani right now because I found them at Walgreens for under $3 and I purchased the last few they had.

The Look for Less: Skims Sleep Set

Happy New Year! This is my first blog post of the new year.  I hope everyone had a great holiday season. The older I get the more I look forward to getting new pajamas for Christmas. Pajamas are one of those essentials that I hate to buy myself. I don't even wear them to sleep, it's more so loungewear for me. But anyway, I received a couple pairs for Christmas. A cute Victoria's Secret romper from my sister and a 2 piece set from my mom. But the real star was the Shimera Tranquility Set my sister got my mom from Nordstrom Rack. It was the softest fabric I have ever touched. I instantly went to find what fabric (Modal) is was and what I could buy that was made out of this fabric. I have a rare form of lymphoma that affects my skin and lots of things make me itch. So when I discovered Modal fabric I was shook.

Modal is especially big in pajamas right now. Every brand is making pjs in this fabric, even Mrs. KKW herself. For the low low price of $128, you can have a modal sleep set. Now I told you I was obsessed with this fabric. I have shopped around for these pajamas at different price points and have found that the fabric is all the same. The $100 set from Nordstrom feels like the $40 pair from  Nordstrom Rack that feels just like the $30 set at Target. So I can't imagine that the Skims pajamas are much different than those at Target. If you had your eye on them save yourself some money and go to Target.
