Style 101: Sporty Chic

What is sporty chic? Sporty chic is when you pair two different looks, like a baseball jersey with a leather pencil skirt and a  pair of slide sandals and make a odd combination stand out amongst the crowd. When I was growing up and coming into my own style my family would always describe my style as sporty. Back then I didn't know what it meant but now I understand. My first real experience with dressing "Sporty Chic" was when I paired my Adidas track pants and single sole heels. Ive seen various celebs kill this look. And some of the most well known designers are incorporating this trend into their clothing lines.

Frugal Spotlight: Motel Rocks

 

Motel Rocks is an online-retailer that I came across while on Instagram. It was established in the late 90's was inspired by the Indie Vintage Shops and various thrift stores along the California coastline. Motel is now a leading Brit fashion label known for its unique prints, form fitting silhouettes and trend-setting styles loved by fashionistas across the globe. Motel Rocks is a label for those whose style is edgy, unique and eclectic.

The reason I was most drawn to this online retailer was not only that I was edgy but because their pricing structure is very reasonable. Clothing & accessories ranging from $15-$200, not too shabby! Below are some items I'm thinking about purchasing soon!

Style 101: Co-Ordinates

There's nothing better than wanting to go out with friends or have a night on the town and realize that your look is already pieced together with a co-ordinate set. The Look for Less: Adidas

This isn't a normal designer look for less from us, but I had to share for our European readers. Almost every person aged 15 - 30 owns a pair of Stan Smith Adidas. I even thought about getting a pair just to fit in. This look for less is on the Raf Simons version, they come in many different colorways. H&M has cream and red pair that are almost identical. What's The TREND? Bralettes

Bralettes are the sleekest trend out now for the spring and summer. Worn best with high-waist pants or shorts, even underneath your favorite blazer. From lace to satin, these dainty items add hint of sexy to whatever look you are trying to pull off. Above are some of my favorite bralettes all various styles. One of my favorite bralette looks are paired with wide leg pants and an optional blazer.
